Yes, that's right..... A cold winter rain storm added to the disaster in Sylmar. We got snow on top of the fire wild storm we just had. So - snow being rare on this mountain - add the ugliness of the soot & ashes on the ground & the result is all but pretty. Snow melted fast once the Sun came out. But we still had clouds in the sky & it created interesting patterns of light & dark areas on the mountainside. And yes those are Pine trees as well..... On the side of the mountain a line can be seen. That's the cut out fire road hiding.... All the black is soot & ashes since the fire...
