Well, I posted the originals on several boards & the frames got mixed responses. Either people liked them or they found them distracting or plain did not like them. So I promised to post the shots without the frames. Now, I have to admit... pp'ing from one day to the next will not render the exact same result. So I've made new versions of them for those who wish to see.

So, the bird is confirmed a "Lesser Goldfinch" of Western variety. This is the male. It's shot with my cheapo lens the Tamron SP AF Di LD (IF) 200-500mm f/5-6.3 on the D200
