OK so photos have been requested of my little Venezuelan Dwarf Orchid. OK so the flowers are actually no more than 2 mm or less than 1/16th of an inch wide each. The complete plant is about 38 cm x 38 cm or 15 x 15 inches. It's attached to a piece of wood 11 inches long. The longest leaves are max 10 cm or 4 inches long & 9 mm or less than 3/8 of an inch wide. the orchid originates in Venezuela & is protected there. I've purchased it through an Orchid nursery here in California located in San Diego. But I bought it at the Huntington Library in Pasadena during an orchid show there. The nursery works with other nurseries around the world to preserve & share these special gems.... It's a dwarf - species is Scaphyglottis with a pink flower. I've had this orchid hanging in the window over the sink in our kitchen for about 4 years, since Ross was working on Criminal Minds. This is the very first time I see it bloom. But based upon the size of the flowers it's possible I've missed it blooming before. These are all shot with a macro (for anything micro or super small) lens. The last photos show more of the full plant so you can see the flowers in relation to the size of the plant.
