Female Great-tailed Grackle or Quiscalus mexicanus

Now according to Stokes Field Guide Western Region, these are not supposed to come to California, but according to http://www.whatbird.com they do & are supposed to be here year around. Either way, here they are & this was my first meeting with this species of bird. The male is very vocal & a true show off. ;) Female on the other hand is far more laid back.
